Feasibility Report and Environmental Impact Statement

Public Involvement

The public plays an important role in the Feasibility Report/Environmental Impact Statement process by providing input on alternatives and issues of concern during the scoping period (completed in 2004) and providing comments on the Draft FR/EIS.

The next opportunity for public involvement will be a comment period following the release of the Draft FR/EIS, anticipated in 2010.  Public meetings will be held to present the Draft and to accept comments from the public.  These meetings will be announced on this Web site and in local news outlets.  During the comment period, public input will be accepted by mail, phone and email.  Any comments received will be formally documented and considered during preparation of the Final FR/EIS.

While we welcome questions about the study at this time, we encourage interested members of the public to review the Draft FR/EIS in its entirety when it is released in 2010.  Details about the potential impacts and mitigation efforts will be available in the Draft.  Join our mailing list to receive study updates and public meeting announcements.
